I think X1 and Y1 are the initial variables. In the lab, it was my understanding that we were sampling from a Normal Distribution with a mean of 10 and a standard deviation of 1 for the initial variables. However, in the practice exam, initial states were not specified. Consequently, we generated a single random variable from a normal distribution without explicitly stating the mean and sd.

Will we be provided the equations needed for a given problem on the exam? For example, the Scott's normal reference rule if needing to create different histogram breaks, kernel functions, probability distribution densities, mean and variances equations, different confidence intervals etc.
